NATURAL DISASTER

NATURAL DISASTER

The Armero tragedy is the worst natural disaster in the history of Colombia. The Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted on November 13, 1985. After 69 years of calm eruption surprised the city while the Government had received warnings to evacuate the area.  Rocks and hot ash melted mountain glaciers and caused landslides with rubble of rocks, trees and mud.  Died more than 20,000 inhabitants.     The story will never forget the Colombians is the death of Omayra Sánchez, a young victim of tragedy, its slow death was transmitted around the world.   Relief workers were horrified by the landscape of fallen trees, disfigured human bodies and lots of houses destroyed.  The day of the eruption, made several attempts to escape, but a severe storm restricted communications. Many victims were left in their homes, according to instructions received from authorities, believing that the eruption was over.   To counter this threat, the Colombian Government established a specialized Office to promote the prevention of natural disasters.

ACCIDENTS AT HOME

ACCIDENTS AT HOME

I was preparing breakfast and did not take into account the cutting edge of new steel knives. When I was cutting the tomatoes, I did not measure the strength and cut my finger along with the tomato flavor.

The blood came out in droves, I called my neighbor, she is a nurse. She told me to put pressure on the area with gauze or a clean towel, pressed my finger for an hour until the bleeding stopped. I washed the wound with soap and water after applying an antibacterial cream. The cut hurt for several days.

For this reason I concluded that men can not be in the kitchen. This activity can affect our physical and mental health.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

WEATHER CONDITIONS

The weather in Bogota is unusual because it's always sunny in the morning but in the afternoon rains. In Bogotá is common to see the fog, but when it clears is very hot. The average temperature in the "savanna" is 14.0 ° C, with a minimum of 3 ° C and a maximum of 25 ° C.

Predicting the weather in Bogota is very hard, a sunny day can turn into an afternoon thunderstorm with lightning, thunder and hail.
